Review of Fight Club (1999) by Amjad A — 30 Nov 2013
Fight Club is a poetic, provocative, controversial and amazingly constructed contemporary film, which tackles issues regarding the self absorbed American society obsessed with materialism and consumerism. The acting is superb, the storytelling is incredibly insightful. Everything comes together perfectly.
Edward Norton and Brad Pitt deliver knockout performances in this post modern, stylish and socially insightful film which features an array of subtext that will leave the audience both mesmerised and hypnotised.
The film is entirely about self retribution and self identification. It's about redeeming yourself and letting go of lifestyle obsessions which the media and the corporations have fuelled you with. The film is symbolic in so many ways, and it's entirely relevant.
I advice this film highly for anyone who appreciates incredible film-making.
