Critics don't know anything...saw the film and it was much better than the first! The film was NOT made for the critics but rather for the fans of the franchise. Also it's virtually guaranteed that the critics couldn't be bothered to pick up the books and read them to get a true sense of what the story is about.
If they had they would know what the story is about and the true sense of what the characters are like. The story is NOT about sex and BDSM as many critics assert...it's a love story about two people who fall in love for the first time in their lives and the mistakes they make along the way to finding happiness despite forces that plot to break them up.
..pure and simple!
