Review of Fiend Without a Face (1958) by Alexandre B — 11 Jul 2016
Often listed as a classic among the 50's scifi/monster genre, I expected so much more out of this film. Now I'm a huge fan of this genre so I did get enjoyment out of it, however, nothing ever reaches above average in the film.
Not the plot, characters, or themes. The only truly memorable thing about the film, is the creature design. In a world of giant bugs, guys in werewolf masks, and rubber suited stunt men, at least the creatures look unique and their own.
Which is the only reason I think people think so highly of it in retrospect.
