Review of Field of Dreams (1989) by Kevin H — 11 Apr 2009

Sue me, but I never "got" this movie, despite repeated re-viewings. Amy Madigan and James Earl Jones are great, and Costner was actually still emoting some at this phase in his career, so that's nice, but I have a feeling that a LOT got lost in the transition from the book.

I mean, I get what it's *supposed* to be about, but, well, the movie just doesn't deliver it very effectively for me. By the third act, I don't much care, and the ending just sort of lays there.
