Review of Field of Dreams (1989) by Francis M — 22 May 2010
This movie is pitch perfect. None of it should work, the story is really bizarre and we shouldn't be going along with it, but we do. This is due to the natural writing and the great performances by Costner and Madigan as a very believable married couple, and James Earl Jones and Burt Lancaster in supporting roles.
This movie rips at the heartstrings and the emotions. It all works.
