Review of Field of Dreams (1989) by Cindy B — 01 Aug 2009
"If you build it, he will come" I'd forgotten how good this movies is... mainly due to the fact my brother harps on about how much he loves it, to the point that I'd subconsciously made myself dislike the thought of it! :) On a lazy Saturday afternoon it appeared on TV and I watched it again - this viewing was long overdue.
It's a fantastical and touching tale that focuses on basic human emotions that leaves you with a lump in your throat and a tear in your eye. Costner seems remarkably believable and I just adore Amy Madigan ever since seeing Uncle Buck.
They are a great together and give a grounding to an otherwise string of bizarre events. One of my favourite sports films... nearly up there with Teen Wolf... but not quite.
