Review of Fiddler on the Roof (1971) by James D — 09 Apr 2008
If I had to choose a favourite film, this would probably be it. Topol is lovely as the long-suffering Tevye, trying to balance Jewish tradition with the changing wants & needs of his daughters in a world which is on the verge of collapse.
Sometimes brutal, sometimes funny, always passionate, a real tearjerker.
