This is one of those films that just lights up life, every person can relate to it, it is the perfect example of the lengths people will go through to rebel against the education system in hope of finding something more promising and fufilling in life.

I will admit, this film promotes skiving school way to much and little emphasis is put on the repocusions of doing so, however it is too busy giving us a glimpse of what life is actually about, that every child had nothing to fear, its a big bad world and all you have to do is just grab onto it and shake it for all its worth.

Ferris decides to hatch a plan to skive off school one morning, after twisting his parents into his web of deciet, he then manages to enlist Cameron, his best friend and Sloane his girlfriend, to bunk off of school with him, so they can spend 1 day living it up, before school ends and their youth is spoiled.

It's played totally tongue and cheek and all for the better, the cast is chalk full of 80's goodness but Matthew Broderick is clearly the captain of this ship. What I love about this film, is not its ability to be hilariously funny or even a non stop thrill ride, it actually has some deep and meaningful undertones running in its veins, The character of Cameron for example, so tortured by his fathers love for his car more than his own son, resonates with how bad parenting can effect a human.

Also Ferris Bueller shows how mundaine and unexciting some teachers tend to teach their students, with monotone voices and patronising tones, while Ferris and co are out living life to the full, pulling pranks, looking at art and contimplating life in general.

Their is an innocence about it that just charms the entire way through. It also has a Charlie Sheen cameo to die for. It is full on 80's cheese and completely of its time, but for people of that generation, it is pretty hard not to fall in love with Ferris Bueller.
