Review of Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986) by Abe J — 02 Feb 2012
This is going to be a big one. Ferris Bullers Day Off is my all time Favorite film. I get most of my humor, and hell..i'm named after Abe Froman. This movie just does everything right in such a way, that is gorgeous.
The script was so ahead of its time, and yet so classic. The way it just worked and clicked so well, scares me that it was so good. It also terrifies me with the fact of how many people have not seen this film.
Matthew Brodrick gives one of the most relaxed performances ever. Its just so right. The way he makes me people believe everything, and yet he is so undefined. The supporting cast promotes that a side character doesn't have to be stupid.
That a movie does not have to be a one man show. Its a factor many films of today forgets to mention. The twist and shout scene is utterly outstanding and, at times, beautiful. Cameron. The best character ever made.
Period. Hes likable and yet agrees with everything that we think. Ferris is stupidly smart, that we and Cameron are scared to do anything. I love this movie. Im going to watch it again. For the 40th time.
