This is just a powerhouse of acting. I would like to see a movie where Davis does not snot all over when crying. I usually feel like she acts the same in all movies but this one it was much better. Washington is very good, even if not a likeable character.
I know it is a play first and it really feels like it with very dense dialogue. They talk A LOT. The scenes where Davis says a lot by not talking were the best.
