Fences has outstanding acting from top to bottom. If Denzel plays the same guy in every movie, then this is the very best iteration of that guy. It's easy to see it's adapted from a play (they're literally like 3 places ever) but the movie is built around strong, emotional performances. I did not cry...much. Viola Davis deserves every award she won for this film.
If you are a first time watcher and like drinking games, take a drink every time anyone says Bono. You're welcome.
