Review of Fences (2016) by Paul V — 03 Jan 2017
The movie hit me personally on how hard it is to be a good father. You have to be firm and steady. Its like the Bible says "Let your No's mean no and your Yes's mean yes. Anything else comes from the devil. You want to be liked, but being a good parent has to come first.
In the end Cory realizes his father had done right by him the whole time. It may not have always been perfect, but it was the best he could do. And in the end Cory turned out to be a fine young man. His father would be proud to see his son standing there at his funeral dressed in his military uniform.
It's a great story. It touched me. I highly recommend.
