This is the best john waters movie. This film explores the concept of 'crime is art' and pokes fun at the social values of the time without being preachy at all. This indie film was made without any of the current restraints of hollywood and political correctness.
the script is great. the acting is hilarious (since it is a comedy). I think that this film has the best set and budget out of waters' early films. the dialogue in this movie is very memorable. Due to the content it is definitely for adults only.
This film won't save the world or educate anyone, but it will truly entertain. Female Trouble clearly demonstrates film as art. If only more films could be made today without going through hollywood.
The DVD is well worth the $12 price and includes a director commentary which is fantastic for fans of this film.
