Feeding Frenzy is what Troma movies would be if Troma movies were made by people who cared about making good movies. It's low budget and low brow, but there's an attention to detail and an obvious love of the genre being spoofed that gives Feeding Frenzy an undeniable charm.
The plot is a by-the-numbers 1980s style horror/monster movie and, on its own, it might not be anything special. What really carries this movie is the dry unpredictable humor that never devolves into cheap predictable gags.
It never gets too sleazy or too gory. It walks that fine line and manages to be weird and subversive without being tasteless.
