Review of Fed Up (2014) by Karen M — 30 Oct 2014
I'm getting a bit fed up with the movie, frankly. A great job of vilifying processed sugar, which is a good thing, but it's also implying that all other sources of processed carbs are a better choice.
I took the 10 day challenge they offer and today's recipe is a sugarless french toast, using two large slices of bread. Brilliant, that's the same carb and metabolic effect as 7 teaspoons of white sugar.
Exactly the same as one slice of bread with a tablespoon of syrup on it. Extremely inappropriate to give good science in one breath and then advice that completely discredits that science and exacerbates the problem they're purportedly trying to solve in the next.
ETA: has Dr. Lustig completely changed his mind about fructose as the enemy, or was it just counterproductive to the agenda to mention the biochemistry demonizing it which he outlined so well in another lecture?
