Review of Fearless (2006) by Joren W — 04 Aug 2008
First I must say if you are a MA fan then see this. Otherwise I can't recommend it.
First is the subtitles. I mean I like the authenticity but I need to hear ENGLISH! Second is the wire-fu, it's ok when used sparingly but it seems all of Jet's movies overdo it WAY to much. Maybe it's his lack of athleticism with age?
The story line is better than most movies and will keep you inspired throughout the flicks dead spots where the action sags after the first act. The connection between Huo and Moon are inspiring and gives you a sense of selflessness, equilibrium, tranquility, and redemption.
The action scenes while well choreographed are not drop dead amazing. You won't see to many great stunts like Jackie Chan or Tony Jaa can perform WITHOUT doubles or wires..
Go to see if for the inspiring story, beautiful settings and great action scenes. Just don't be surprised if your not blown away like movies Hero, House of Flying Daggers, Onk Bak or Crouching Tiger.
