Review of Fearless (2006) by Jexy G — 10 Jun 2009
This movie gets an extra bump up in the ratings as I have just bought and watched the Director's Cut. MUCH BETTER. First, the subtitles are immensely better, and the translation is perfect and clean, where as in the film released in theaters it was not at all.
Also, even though the Director's Cut is 40 min longer... it seems much better put together, everything transitions smoothly, and a lot of story is put in and it helps make everything make more sense.
His relationship with the blind woman is explored much more, and makes it far more meaningful, where as in the previous version, it almost seems like she is thrown in there for no reason at all. Also, apparently a lot of the violence and blood were edited out of the other version, as now with the new one, you can see blood going everywhere.
Why the theater version was cut down so much I'll never know, but the Director's Cut is great!
