Review of Fearless (2006) by Stephen S — 07 Dec 2012
I've seen it twice now and I really love this. Not as great as Hero, but still wonderfully told. The story begins with the final confrontation and thus flashes back to how our hero Huo got to where he was.
The classic story of a fighter gaining in fame and growing in pride. Finally his pride leads to his fall. What is left is how Huo comes back from his fall from grace. Told at a brisk pace the story saunters on, never rushing anything.
Visually they use minimal effects, and the fight choreography combines both acrobatics and martial arts so you get a more cinematic fight. It's a well-made movie, I recommend it for any occasion.
