Review of Fearless (2006) by Abdulaziz A — 05 Feb 2013
Really great martial arts film. The combat scenes are some of the best I've ever seen. They are just sick. The message of what wushu is and what it is supposed to be used for is inspirational and pretty dang cool.
That this is a true story makes it even better. Acting-wise I think Jet Li does a pretty good job. He plays pain and seriousness better than joyfulness, strangely enough. What makes this story more meaningful than just a bunch of wonderful action sequences is the fact there is a deep emotional aspect to this film and you connect with the main character as he tries to be who his parents truly wanted him to become.
It takes him losing everything to see who he is and how he must change.
