Review of Fearless (1993) by Cade L — 30 May 2009
Wow!! I stumbled on this by accident and picked it up not knowing what to expect. This is a wonderful Peter Weir (one of my fave directors) film that covers so many bases--drama, comedy, existentialism.
..it's great. Jeff Bridges must be one of those actors who can do whatever he wants--he can do anything! This movie packs a huge emotional punch and ends in a satisfying fashion. Any movie where I relate to the main character is rare but this is one of them.
I can't relate to his circumstances, but the basic struggle is something I've gone over in my life too. The writing is great, the cinematography is amazing (especially considering the time of release--can't believe it was 1993), the music is cool.
..just an all-around good movie. What a wonderful surprise!!
