Surprised a such a dark uncompromising film could get made in hollywood, this is a hypnotic, challenging film that makes you question life death, why do bad things happen to good people and the existence of God, it doesnt offer any solutions either, we cant try to know for sure the mysteries of life and trying to will only drive you crazy, this film is also well acted, for once I didnt hate rosie perez, and just the use of music and slow motion in certain scenes creates a sense of unease and a dreamlike state, proves once again peter weir is the real deal.
