Review of Fear of Fear (1975) by Srikanth V — 12 Aug 2007
The carpentry instruction video is back! They're all there again - the dead-as-doornails actors and the whole furniture Co..
Fassbinder, I will admit, does have noble values, and occasionally good cinematic ideas too but it seems to me his 'colorful life' and his supposed fame among film critics and fans precedes any unbiased appreciation of his talent. I don't see his 'style' as particularly uplifting or even uniquely enhancing to the stories he tells.
I've seen better films come out of the same era.
He's just not bad.
