Review of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998) by Felix H — 24 May 2012
I've heard that Terry Gilliam once said his intention with this film was to cinematically simulate the experience of a drug trip - if this is true, he has done an excellent job: Fear and Loathing starts fast-paced, in good mood, full of energy, but rapidly losing momentum, getting more and more exhausting and ending in the nausea and lethargy of a hangover.
Also, I think it didn't quite catch the spirit of the book, which I enjoyed reading from cover to cover.
