Review of Fear and Desire (1953) by Roy P — 17 Apr 2008
There's a reason why Kubrick didn't want this released. Awful over-acting, bad camera work, and flimsy effects made it seem like just an amateur film, especially compared to his later works. Still, it's interesting to watch his works evolve from this to stuff like Barry Lyndon or Clockwork Orange, so it is worth a watch.
