Review of Fatal Attraction (1987) by Danny R — 04 Sep 2015
Adrian Lyne's thrilling stylish sexy thriller which is one of the biggest box-office hits of the late 80's. Michael Douglas delivers an exceptional star performance as New York attorney and family man, Dan Gallagher, who is being stalked by an obsessive unbalanced psychotic woman named Alex Forrest, played by Glenn Close in an unforgettably chilling Oscar nominated performance.
Gallagher has a tryst with her than shrugs off the affair as a mistake and considers it over, but Forrest won't be ignored and is now determined to keep Gallagher for herself no matter what, even to the point of terrorizing his family, so she begins her deadly game of cat and mouse with Gallagher.
Close is genuinely frightening with her murderous rage and throws herself completely into the mad women role. There is a wonderfully radiate Oscar nominated supporting performance by the gorgeous Anne Archer as Douglas's loving wife Beth.
A beautifully-crafted film that is expertly directed by Lyne. It received six richly deserved Academy Awards nominations including Best Picture and Director. Highly Recommended.
