Before there was Ripley, there was Tura Satana kicking ass and proving women are every bit as strong as men. Russ Meyer may have intended to make an exploitation flic, but Faster Pussycat also stands as a strangely feminist ode.
Tura said recently she intended to make a film which proved women can be sexy and feminine and still strong, and she did it.
