Review of Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill! (1965) by Rick R — 21 Sep 2009
Faster Pussycat Kill, Kill (1965).
Russ Meyer sexploitation movies are sort of like soft-core porn with bad acting, and bad dialog. The only thing they seem to want to do is to tease you with overly exposed top-heavy girls and the pervy guys who can't look away. Now days soft-core like this is pretty tame, and watching this is sort of funny, although was it meant to be?
I can see where Tarantino and Rodriguez got this style for their movies like Sin City, Death Proof, and Kill Bill, but they tend to not be afraid to show a little more. Back in 1965, they couldn't really show you the goods. :-).
I think that it's as watch-able as any drive-in, B movie and as sort of a history of film type of thing. It's not any kind of deep psychological drama, but just an excuse to show you some cleavage. Pop some popcorn, open a beer and enjoy.
