Years ago I would've never believed it, and now I dare say it's one of Dwayne Johnson's best films. Since I usually pay no attention to critics anyway and knowing I formed my own tastes, decided to give this film a "chance", only it's so much more than "just a chance". It became an awesome action film of great proportions surprising quality.

Surely at first you may think it's just another revenge type action film, bad guys die, hero wins, hell NO. Finally The Rock decided to forget all about Tooth Fairies and select his parts carefully and be the man he was born to be. A man driven by vengeance and fueled by rage and hatred. A man that cheated death and will stop at nothing, care for no one to achieve his ultimate goal. No cares for good or wrong at all, no interest in repercussions, just a man, his gun and crazy thirst for sweet revenge. Sounds wrong, but George Tillman Jr. (whoever he is) made it somehow morally feel right. Things happen one after another like it's only natural, quickly drawing you into the storyline accompanied with a very fitting soundtrack listing.

Most things everyone love in films is, to be surprised, not an easy task for any director, but my god this has got to be a twisting twist of twists, a turn-around scene around the end I would've never expected, either the story was too good and I forgot to pay attention to details or the director and the actors knew exactly how to hide it. Outstanding!!!

Dwayne, I hope he keeps up this road, it's time he thinks before he "acts", Billy Bob, the ever fuckedup, ever loser, ex-something (as usual), and smoking pissing fucking Santa (no...that's another film), but still smoking like an ass, and acting like a bad-ass mother rotten to the core. Strangely enough he's a cop teaming up with Carla Gugino (always a sight for sore eyes). Both got chemistry, both act greatly.

So yes, i'd definitely watch this again (soon I hope), and it's an absolutely clever darkish action thriller packed with crazy scenes and nice camera angles (especially during the car chases), you can almost feel it's REAL. Almost a biblical motive in here somewhere, everything happens Day by Day and eventually it all comes down to forgiveness and redemption, not really the case here but they tried:)). Then we got the title, never fully understood why it's called faster...well I did eventually, not gonna spoil it, enough said. Enjoy!

Peace!
