Review of Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982) by Matt M — 08 Feb 2013
It's neither representational of its time, though it's highly romanticised, nor a film that is sensitive to adolescence, with its lack of realism highlighted by some naive dealings of some serious themes.
Taken as a thoughtless ride, it has some entertainment values, and there is no doubt about Sean Penn's performance as the perpetually stones surfer being fun.
