Neither an exploitation comedy (a la Porky's) or a classic Brat Pack drama (The Breakfast Club), Fast Times at Ridgemont High is essentially a slice-of-life movie with an almost documentary feel, and a unique snapshot of early 80s American adolescence.
In his second film role, Sean Penn plays the original stoned surfer dude, Jeff Spiccoli.
