Review of Fast Five (2011) by Agung W — 30 Apr 2013
Other than the terrible script in the first two thirds and the final chase scene (really? Make the cops just obeying orders the bad guys?) it was good.
Developing it into a heist movie was a good idea (other than the simplistic twist).
A few of the characters could have been developed more and been less clichÃÂ (C) (eg Dwayne Johnson).
I would have also preferred it if they didn't leave it open in the final scene. Giving it a suitable ending would have made the sixth installment even better!
Nice to see a good range of excellent cars, even the "extras"; examples include Honda NSX, Prelude (missed the Civics though...), Nissan GTR as well as many others...
A few too many other clichÃÂ (C) bits such as the vehicles getting air over bump at very slow speed.
The parallels with number were welcome but just on the cusp of overdoing it.
All in all I was not expecting it to be as enjoyable.
Looking forwards to the next installment!
