Review of Fast Five (2011) by Rj M — 20 Dec 2012
Fast Five is as generic as a movie can get. It uses the same tired out formula and lacks anything creative. I am usually one to like an action movie but Fast Five adds nothing new to the mix. For starters, the plot is so predictable that you can honestly guess everything that is going to happen next.
The dialouge is just plain laughable because you have bad actors saying the lines. I understand its an action movie but my god there is just terrible acting. Fast Five has awful actors all giving terrible performances.
Vin Deisel and Paul Walker once again prove that they have no skills as actors but the performance that pissed me off the most was The Rock. He tries so hard to be this badass cop but ends up failing so badly.
I honestly could not take him seriously whenever he was on screen. You can clearly tell that the writer wanted him to be like Tommy Lee Jones in "The Fugitive". In the end Fast Five is just another brainless action movie for the mindless action fanbase.
I dont see why people praise this movie so much as it is some sort of action masterpiece. The Fast and Furious finally made something that is somewhat worth mentioning, big deal. If you want a good action movie then go watch "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" because unlike Fast Five, that actually delivers thrills as a good action movie should.
I know the Fast and Furious series are still going to make movies and the sad part is, I will probablly end up watching them.
