Review of Fargo (1952) by Don S — 02 Feb 2013
I've never seen a Coen brothers movie I didn't like, and this is no exception. Worthy of Oscars? Uh, no. The characters are stupid, and the North Dakotan accents don't help to improve that impression.
I felt like I was watching a bunch of mentally challenged people all experiencing the same delusion. Even when confronted with their own stupidity, they continue on in the same fashion. The story is simple and would probably have played better as a drama showcasing the idiocy of criminals than a satire.
I liked it but was far from loving it.
