Review of Farewell, My Queen (2012) by Cathie L — 02 Aug 2012
A complex and surprisingly plausible drama in which all the main parts bar one are women. For all their strength of character and nuanced loyalties, they are living in a looking glass world divorced from the kind of power that can prevent it's imminent collapse.
Marvellously the movie conveys the real threat of violence and execution almost entirely by reference, and the reasonable assumption that the audience know full well what is in for the Queen.
