The narration in this movie is like a Chinese lullaby to me. Why oh why China does not make movies like this anymore and waste big bucks trying to make so-called Chinese block buster? I'd say that's all propaganda.
(and I am from Korea so I know all about propaganda I tell you!) I saw this movie when I was ten but yet it was so moving and strong. It taught me about the Cultral Revolution and human relationships.
