Review of Far from Heaven (2002) by Kevin C — 12 May 2008
A brillant film that really does bring back the melodrama style of filmmaking form the 1950s, Doulogas Sirk era. We do not see the 50s melodrama style anymore and it was such a pleasure to watch the style with a touch of modernism.
The camera movements emit the expressions and the emotion of the scene. Social issues abound, that were prominent in the 1950s, but are also prominent and relevant in todays age are developed, explored and protrayed very realistically.
Julianne Moore is beautiful and amazing as proper, perfect housewife Cathy Whitaker, the progatonist, of this splendid film.
