Review of Far from Heaven (2002) by Peter B — 04 Feb 2011
American beauty but set in the past. Mad men without the swagger. Moore is alright - if slightly caricaturey at times. President Palmer is the reason to watch. If 24 is the star wars groundbreaking phenomenon of the tv world then he is the modern day gandalf for sure.
The guy is a ledge end even when-in this case-he doesnt actually get much to do but stand and smile. Altho its meant to be like old fashioned films of the time - but with sort of "real" issues mixed into the bag - it always feels quite fake, maybe its meant to but it stopped me from givin a hoot to be frank.
