Review of Far from Heaven (2002) by Paul M — 26 Apr 2013
A rapturous weepie, and a loving homage to a film era past all told without a wink of irony. "Far From Heaven" is the film of the decade for many reasons (including Julianne Moore at a career high and Dennis Quaid's finest moment), not least of which because Todd Hayne's bold film is as gorgeous, and rigourously constructed as it is humanely compassionate.
No true lover of cinema should want to miss it.
