Review of Far and Away (1992) by Baurushan J — 27 Aug 2012
In this classic film which I think is underrated, the best known 90's couple Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman star in this Ron Howard drama Far And Away. The story takes place in the 19th-century is about Joseph who is a poor Irishman and has lost his father and home to the ruthless landlord.
In order to get the land back and avenge his family, Joseph meets the landlord's daughter Shannon and the two run off to America together where she can both find a piece of land for herself. After a series of serious set backs, they do work their way out West where Joseph must fight to realize his dream and claim a piece of the American Dream for himself and where they finally acknowledge their love for each other.
A beautiful movie which has been a long time since I watched. Seeing ex-couple Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman together on the front poster makes me weep for the good old days. I think Far And Away gets a 10/10 and I think I'm being really generous/too nice.
(please don't hate on me).
