Review of Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009) by David L — 17 Mar 2012
Fantastic Mr. Fox is one of the weirdest films I have ever seen.
The animation of human characters is outstanding, but the animation of some animal counterparts is weird.
The acting is o.k. but I wouldn't go that far to call it amazing, because some of that star-studded voice cast is awkward. Take for example Franklin Bean. The.
Choice of Michael Gambon is just awkward and it doesn't fit the character properly.
As for character development, the main character is charming, funny and an overall interesting protagonist. He's not unique at all, it has already been seen,.
But he provides the humor in the film mostly. Speaking of humor, the movie has plenty of it, could have had more, but still plenty. The smart dialogue.
Of it makes it amusing to watch and the character of Kylie is really funny and of course Ash and his struggles in the film are really.
Interesting to look at.
While I think it's better for a film to have its own songs, the soundtrack of Fantastic Mr. Fox is solid and the "Love" song from "Robin Hood" is a great fitting.
The plot is nothing new, it kinda reminds me of "Chicken Run". I don't know why, but it has some similarities.
The dialogue for the most part is surprisingly smart and well written.
What puts me off in this film is how stupid and unrealistic some plot elements are. Animals wearing clothes, Mr fox's knowledge of Latin... And what the hell was.
That "wolf scene" about?! I still have no idea. It had potential to be a clever and possibly adult film and they ruined it for that.
Matter.
Overall, Fantastic Mr. Fox has interesting animation, interesting protagonist and a really clever dialogue, but the plot is nothing knew, the film is too weird in terms of.
Animation and acting and it is definitely a forgettable film.
