Review of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007) by Travis H — 10 Dec 2012
A meager improvement upon this one compared to the previous movie, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer echoes the same horrendous qualities that it's predecessor had. The only part of this movie that actually improved was the dialogue. The characters no longer acted like 11 year olds. Now, they acted like 15 year olds.
While the plot was less cliche and linear, the portrayal of the ineptitude of the 'bad' good guys (Army) was pathetic. And, at times, solutions and creations would appear out of thin air. In one part * SPOILERS BEGIN* , they are trying to separate the Silver Surfer from his board in order to take him down. And, out of the blue, they invent a device to do so. They just happen to come up with a device, when they don't know what the Surfer or his Board is. There is no explanation for that, it just happened. *END SPOILERS*.
But, like I said, the dialogue is at least tolerable, and the plot is slightly better. Now, if you have a choice between reading Twilight and watching this movie on a plane, you should watch this movie as you cringe about the decision you made.
