Review of Fantastic Four (2015) by Faith P — 11 Mar 2017
This reboot is not a bad film, but its glaring flaws keep it from the film it could have been. It had so much potential. There was so much material that wasn't ever used to strengthen the plot or the characters' motivation and personalities.
The screenplay had its issues, as did the editing. The film jumped around a lot and the audience was forced to figure out what exactly was going on. However, the characters had some moments of interaction that proved that the right cast was there and it was in some of these moments that humor finally revealed itself in this rather serious take on the story.
If the characters had been fleshed out more and a more coherent and engaging plot line were used in the film, The Fantastic Four would have been undoubtedly certified fresh.
