Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Antti A — 18 Nov 2018

I liked parts of this movie. Depp and Law were the stars, Redmayne delivered a good performance and some parts of the story were truly enjoyable. But the performances were hindered by the plot, pacing and the character developments that weren't set up properly.

In short there were too many people and too many stories stuffed in and the whole movie suffered because of it. You could easily edit characters out and it would give much needed time to properly set up the important parts of the movie and character developments.

The movie peaked in the first act and because it my advice for the next movie is to keep it simple and tight. Overall if you're a Potterhead you are going to see this movie. If not, you can wait for the next movie.
