Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Barry C — 20 Nov 2018
The film is beautifully presented with great sets, costumes etc.
Special effects are excellent.
However, it falls well short of the first Fantastic Beasts which was much more endearing, humorous and convincing.
The storyline is disjointed and hard to follow unless you are an avid Pottermore reader.
Above all, I couldn't understand why the film was entitled "The crimes of Grindelwald" as he didn't really do much and came out as quite a sympathetic character compared to some of the 'goodies' such as the head of the Ministry of Magic Enforcement division.
It seemed like this was being used as a filler between the first and third instalments and I only hope they get back on track for the 3rd part.
