Review of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald (2018) by Steven G — 22 Nov 2018

Reading through the books for the first time and we decided to go see crimes of Grindelwald. We loved it. It obviously will throw some curves at the story in the original Harry Potter books but we are super interested to see how it all works out. We loved the beasts in this movie, though they were less prominent than in the first fantastic beasts. Going to see it again soon!

In comparison to the original movies I felt that the story was a bit less rushed because it was made for the time it was fit into rather than squishing much more complex stories from novels into a movie length. I won't compare effects because this is 20 years since the first movie and the difference will be obvious.

Tl/Dr: go see it. Ignore the critics. You'll have fun and it's a good story.
