We are confronted with a Dickensian world here.Full of peculiar characters,and with the good/innocent people in the centre, surrounded by obstacles to their happiness.
You have two siblings Fanny and Alexander,who must adapt to a rigid lifestyle,when their tender mother marries a priest.The movie is really a strong portrait of the childrens battle to save themselves and the people they love,from the reign of their tyrannical stepfather.
