Review of Fanny and Alexander (1982) by Will I — 06 Feb 2008
What can I say? This is probably my favorite movie, period. I don't know how many times I've watched this (the full 5 hour version). This is the epitome of film. Each character, every scene, the story, it all seems to blend seamlessly.
I think what Bergman captured in this film was the marriage of reality and mysticism; he managed to translate his thoughts and angst into film.
