Watch the TV version or not at all. Fanny and Alexander is a flawless masterpiece which contains some of the greatest acting, photography and direction one will ever see. The costume design and the music is brilliant as well.
Fanny and Alexander will draw you in immediately and will never let go. It is haunting and dark in its content but is the absolute apex of story telling. It is easy to say Fanny and Alexander is one of the greatest films of all time.
