"The world is a den of thieves and night is falling.".

A family is in crisis after its lively patriarch dies unexpectedly, leaving his grieving wife desperate to provide stability for her children. The widow marries a minister, but their new life proves to be foreboding and lonesome.

Fanny and Alexander is one of those rare films that somehow manages to weed out any of the casual moviegoers from the ones in the audience who know that good movies do not feed our base emotions, and provide such a rewarding and unique experience.

Fanny is a powerful film where any and all artistic techniques used by today's known crop of Hollywood filmmakers is superbly and subtly present here. Inmar Bergman is quickly rising the ranks on my list of top film directors.

Watch this picture, it's a masterpiece from one of the medium's most celebrated artists.
