Review of Fanboys (2009) by James H — 08 Mar 2010
A group of 4 twenty-something guys decide that they need to take a road trip from Ohio to California, to beak into Skywalker ranch and watch the new Star Wars film, Episode 1. Oh yeah, this takes place in like 1998 or something, whenever that film was gonna come out. One of the guys in the group is dying and so this trip becomes about much more than just watching the movie - and I felt like it did a good job of making feel as such, without beating me to death with it.
The road trip is awesome, and the scenes in which they clash with their enemies (Trekkies) are priceless. Although I don't feel like the film is a true fanboy creation, it's heart is in the right place and deserves credit for that. Very enjoyable.
